While living in a community with shared facilities can be new, people recognise the value of having others to talk to even if it is only to pass the time of day. The relatively quiet location and green surroundings are an asset.
We support residents by listening, offering advice and giving encouragement. This support includes:
- Pre-licence interview
- Welcome and initial care to enable people to settle in
- On site regulation for community living
- Resident consultations (both group and individual)
- Practical help with form filling
- Benefits advice
- Budgeting advice
- Supporting personal progress and building confidence
- Access to outside support for health, voluntary activities, work
- Moving on at the end of the stay
Shared facilities include:
- Shared kitchens with electric and microwave cookers, cooking pots, crockery and cutlery for residents to prepare their own meals. An eating area with tables and chairs.
- Lounge with TV and Wifi and comfortable seating
- Laundry room with washing machines and dryers
- CCTV coverage in communal areas and corridors
- Shared bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets on both floors
- Outside smoking area, communal gardens and large paddock
To ensure that all areas are safe and meet legal standards, regular professional checks are carried out on all installations and utilities. Communal areas are cleaned twice weekly.
