The break-up of his marriage and an accident to his leg from a fall on the stairs resulting in the hard-to-cure leg infection, necrotising fasciitis, contributed to the loss of home and work – and a sense of isolation.

Camfield offered him company and support, while he built his confidence to adjust to his new situation and prepare for independent living. He has since moved successfully into retirement housing.
